GRAM
VIKAS TRUST will be directly responsible for securing finance for construction
of sanitation systems and promotion of its usage.
For
sanitation to have an impact on health, sanitation should be safe and be
coupled with good hygienic practices
around use of the sanitation assets. The health impact of sanitation
furthermore depends on concentration of sanitation, or pockets of density.
Taking this into consideration FINISH will also focus on incentivising GRAM
VIKAS TRUST towards sanitation densities created vide a mechanism called Output
Based Aid.
In order
to achieve the overall objective of improving in quality of life through better
health and hygiene FINISH will render following assistance to GRAM VIKAS TRUST:
♦ Training and capacity building for project coordinators and animators
targeted at dissemination of sanitation methodologies and technologies that are
safe, contextual and affordable
♦ Liaise with financial intermediaries and assist GRAM VIKAS TRUST in the
development and implementation of micro finance products and schemes for
sanitation including where possible integration of micro health insurance
schemes
♦ Training and capacity building targeted to enhancing community awareness
leading to demand for sanitation.
♦ Various information, education and communication (IEC) tools that will
assist in the promotion of habit change and demand for sanitation
♦ Supporting human resource requirement
through supplementary allowance as detailed below for FINISH project
implementation
♦ Selectively assist in innovative pilots through the Sanitation
Investment Fund (SIF)
♦ Assist to secure revolving fund with zero/nominal interest to leverage
government and other donor sanitation investments already made in GRAM VIKAS
TRUST area of operation of FINISH
♦ Assist in linkages with other donor programmes that includes programs in
fulfilment of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR)
♦ Together with the partner explore opportunities of enhancing liquidity
for expansion of FINISH project.
♦ Assist in creation of livelihood in the community through project
implementation
